In Newsletter, Winter 2017

Dear community,

Hello!!!  It has been a while since we have reached out to you and we want to update you on the exciting changes happening.  As most of you already know, Treehugger Farms was sold in the beginning of the summer.  We were able to to stay open throughout the summer.  We felt this was the best way to stay connected to community members that had not received news of the sale of the farm.  We took advantage of the heat to grow perennial crops such as: moringa, turmeric, ginger, roselle, pigeon pea, soursop, passion fruit as well as many exciting perennial vegetables that grow abundantly in our hot and humid climate. And humid it was.

This summer has been one of the hottest on record in South Florida, but we have been hard at work to keep Tree Amigos Growers active in the local food movement. We secured a new space with Natural Chai Farm located at 10900 SW 48th Street Fort Lauderdale 33328.  It is the perfect space for vegetable farming, an onsite farmer’s Market, and building our new greenhouse.  We aim to be there by Mid-October, all set up and ready for visitors. We will send an e mail update with a more exact opening date in a couple of weeks.
